Put another one on the left…almost…
March 28, 2007 by dunny.
Operation get visas is in full effect now (or get a damn passport in the first place for our Burleson brethren). Our route is under a bit of reconstruction after we heard some not-so-fancy things about Moldova and the rest of the Middle Way. We’re looking into a southern route with a stretch more scenery and may join forces with a couple other teams to get diggin’ on it.
Stay in the circle over the next week…big changes may be coming to our route plans, a mult-team convoy is hatching, and our long overdue surfacing in the media is on its way…

Now Accepting Online Donations!
March 26, 2007 by dunny.
We ended up just doing a little of everything for this. If you wish to make a monetary donation, you now have 4 options:
- Donate to MercyCorps Mongolia here
- Donate to CNCF Mongolia here
- Send us a donation through PayPal here and indicate its intended destination (we’ll route it for you - no conversion fees)
- Send us a donation by mail (check/cash - email us and we’ll tell you where to send it - no fees period)
Thanks for everyone’s patience on this matter. We tried hard to avoid conversion fees, but set up the PayPal alternative when it wasn’t possible. Check out the main page for more details, and stay updated! Lots of stuff coming up in the next couple weeks…….

Online donation options close…
March 21, 2007 by dunny.
Bear with us…it looks like firstgiving may fall through, which would leave justgiving.com as our last option. We wanted to avoid anything that would include currency conversion fees, so we’re making some last ditch efforts to route our donations through the States before they get to Mongolia.
In the meantime, send donations directly to us and specify where you want them applied. Check out the Donations page on the main site for info on how.

Gone in way less than 60 seconds
March 9, 2007 by dunny.
We’re in! The Rally folks released the first 100 spots at 1:00PM CST (7:00PM in London), and they were gone in 22 seconds. Damn right we snagged one. It’s starting to register that we’re actually going to give this nonsense a try…no longer is SkipLizard just a great bar conversation.
Victory! Get the Eastern Hemisphere ready for a little taste of Texas, because we’re coming! Mamas, lock your daughters up and throw away the key! SkipLizard is born baby!!!

200 is plenty right?
March 1, 2007 by dunny.
The folks at Mongol Rally Central just announced the release dates for the 200 spots available. This whole thing could be official in the next week…which should be far too short a time to have a stroke of sense (sober up) and reconsider riding the challenge of all challenges.
As for the rest, we’ve near tied up both ends of the drive with folks daring enough to help or host us. It’s a given that everything in between is all on us, but friendly confines on each end ought to keep this closer to running a marathon than running a marathon while getting kicked in the crotch repeatedly.
Right now the focus is all on fundraising…so go to our Charities page! Read about them, think about them, and lend a hand if you have the means.
